Let's face it - life is better at the beach. Beginning a life together as husband and wife - while on the beach - is an incredible experience. On July 16, 2011 we were married during our destination wedding weekend celebration on the beaches of Ocean City, Maryland and Bethany Beach, Delaware. For both Greg and myself - that beach location with connections to our friends, family and childhood memories made for an incredible place to begin our life together.

 

We then honeymooned on the beaches of Emerald Bay in the Bahamas before returning home that summer to rescue our sweet dog, Brandy. Beach travel and pet resuce/adoption - we both realized - became two very important key elements that defined who we are as a couple.

 

Neither of us knew much about Brandy's life before she came to live with us. What we did know was that she had a sensitive stomach and most treats we gave her would make her sick. We decided to take to the kitchen to see if we could come up with a treat that would help and not hurt her! After many attempts, we created treats that worked well for Brandy! With a healthy and happy rescue dog in our life, we knew it was time to start giving back to help other homeless animals.

 

Our love of animals brought us to want to volunteer with several non-profits and shelters in our area. Our homemade,  limited ingredient treats began to sell so quickly. It is always an honor to help these wonderful non-profits. We were so inspired by the success of our products, that we decided to expand. On September 29, 2012 C&G Enterprises announced C&G Animal Delights!

 

Along life's journey as travel enthusiasts, volunteers, animal lovers and business owners, we've met some incredible people and their pets. None could ever compare to my life long friend, college roommate and Brandy's caretaker, Matt Arch. A beach and animal lover himself, Matt's life was a great inspiration to us as he motivated us to work toward our new brand name, concept and our new business ideas.

 

With the passing of our dear and wonderful friend, Matt in early 2015, Greg and I came to realize that life is so precious and that the presence of pets in our lives remind us to pause - or PAWS every now and then. With a new concept to unveil, new projects to tackle, new community awarness to create and an overall new lease - or leash - on life - we proudly introduce to you, Paws in the Sand Pet Treats -  and toys and gift items as well - Beginning July 1, 2015! 

 

While Matt's initials are just a small part of our logo (the MA in the corner of the logo) Matt's legacy as a philanthrapist, humanitarian, animal caretaker and devoted friend will always live on in a BIG way. Remembering Matt's life and work and accomplishments will be a great driving force in the way that Paws in the Sand Pet Treats will give back to the community and be involved with Matt's namesake organization. Support for men's mental health research and services is so important to Matt's foundation and to our business.
